1. Qualification required
The removal and correction of tattoos and PMU is a cosmetic activity. This is clearly regulated by law. It may only be practised commercially after successful participation in a SKINIAL training course. No further special qualifications or skills are required for the application. Dermatological basics, the technique and our decades of experience are taught extensively in our training courses. Participants report that they can apply the technique safely and successfully after only a few treatments. If you have no previous knowledge of the skin or the use of needles, it is better to attend a training course with a trainer instead of an online training course to be on the safe side. This is offered by our trainers in many countries. If you are already pigmenting with a needle or practising microblading, you can easily learn the technique online.
2. What can cosmetic tattoo removal be compared to?
Cosmetic tattoo removal with SKINIAL is performed with a commercially available pigmentation device and standard needle cartridges. The procedure is comparable to pigmentation or tattooing and in some areas also to microblading. You can read about how exactly this works in the article “How does tattoo removal work”.
The easy-to-learn technique, together with our physiological removal fluid, allows for a natural, gentle repulsion of any type of ink to the skin surface. The correctly applied technique and our removal products adapted to each skin type enable the removal of any pigmentation, even in difficult cases.
3. Reservations of doctors and authorities
Some doctors in few European Countries and competitors in this countries still claim that it is a medical activity, and that cosmeticians and tattoo artists would inevitably cause side effects during cosmetic tattoo removal. These doctors know very well that there is no such connection. Ignorance about the cosmetic methods, as well as the attempt to denigrate a new technique are the most common reasons for the baseless sweeping accusations. This will not stop the successive displacement of dangerous laser removal by natural cosmetic methods.
The anger of laser removers is understandable, especially since natural methods are cheaper, painless and offer much better results. We try to educate clients about a natural, safe alternative to tattoo removal through extensive education. You find examples and information on our website, in-depth posts on our blog and in each of our studios. However, we also educate on how dangerous and painful “laser” treatments actually are, explain the reasons and show examples. You cannot expect this kind of education from laser doctors.
It should be clear to everyone that every skin treatment, from pigmentation to removal, can always pose a certain risk to the skin. Side effects can never be fundamentally ruled out, regardless of the method used, and this is also discussed in detail with the client before every treatment. The actual causes of complications and side effects are explained in the article Side Effects of Tattoo Removal. In another article, we explain the legal situation and in particular the question of whether cosmetic SKINIAL treatment is allowed and whether there is a permit. We also report on the practical experience of our studios worldwide and how the authorities in the individual countries react to cosmetic tattoo removal.
