Lack of care of the treated area can lead to scarring

Even after a SKINIAL treatment it can lead to scarring - hypertrophic scars or keloids. Keloids are pathological changes of the skin that are genetically conditioned in more than 50% of the cases. Some areas of the body e.g. the upper chest area, are particularly at risk. In the case of hypertrophic scars, there are several therapeutic approaches that we have extensively analyzed together with our physicians and which are well known to each Skinial Studio. Every trained Skinial user is able to offer you concrete assistance, because otherwise there is a very good healing perspective in these cases. The trigger of the reaction is the irritation of the skin by the treatment, but the reasons for the occurrence of these scars can be very diverse and have only rarely to do with the treatment itself. In general, the vast majority of hypertrophic scars (100 million annually after OPs in the Western world alone) are due to lack of or poor post-treatment and in some cases reactions to toxic components of tattoo inks. Anyone who endangers the treated areas with UV rays, mechanical stimuli or even infections must live with corresponding consequences. This is explained in detail to the treating professionals. Each customer receives after his treatment a follow-up leaflet. Parts that are particularly stressed or moved must be specially cared for and spared.

Laser Pretreatment - Scarred subcutaneous tissue leads to poor repellency of the ink

A special case are laser-pretreated tattoos. Depending on the condition of the subcutaneous tissue, the laser has more or less lost its natural rejection function. When and if this is the case, can hardly be determined externally. Some have a completely scarred subcutaneous tissue after just a few laser treatments, while others can still repel the skin as a foreign body even after ten treatments. To determine this, it is often sufficient to wait for the result of a Skinial treatment from a single point. Many laser treatments destroy the melanocytes (produce the skin color pigments) by their heat which means that the skin can no longer produce color pigments. When Skinial then removes the color, the skin stays white because the laser previously damaged it irreparably.

Permanent make-up and tattooing as well as any kind of correction or removal are severe irritations of the skin. The skin is a living organ and not a wall. Depending on the general state of health, intact immune system, individual resistance, location of treatment and genetic basis (sensitive or rather robust), the reaction will be different. Sometimes the skin heals quickly and well, sometimes slowly and sometimes over-reacts the skin through an overproduction of collagen.

The customer can determine more than 50% of the healing success by a good aftercare and thus ideal healing. Failure to follow-up often results in itching, skin discoloration, inflammation, and at least temporary scarring.
